Weakening Demand Puts Natural Gas Prices at 52-Week Low
By energy_linguist, December 4, 2009, News, Save Money, Special Offers
Good news for Texans: Natural gas prices in 2009 have continued their weakening trend by lowering to a 52-week low, below last year's mark already, and are projected to continue said trend into 2010. The New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX), widely used as a benchmark for natural gas prices, dropped to $4.432 per 1,000 cubic feet on Thursday.
With expected snowy weather in Houston today, and snow storms already wreaking havoc in North Texas, the timing for lower gas prices couldn't be better. Times like these are the best opportunities to explore what you are paying per kilowatt hour with your current Texas electricity provider.
As natural gas prices decrease, it is likely you will see additional opportunities to save money immediately by switching to a lower introductory variable rate plan to take advantage of lower rates, or quite possibly a fixed rate plan that will protect you from any future price spikes.
Bounce Energy recently launched a Thrift Saver Introductory plan that allows you to immediately start saving on your electricity bill.
