By Julianne, March 31, 2010, Charity & Community, Green
On April 3rd, Houston will hold its second annual Earth Day Festival at Discovery Green. The free event will start off with the Earth Day Houston 5K and will be followed by a day-long celebration to promote sustainable living and educating Houstonians about the importance of preserving, conserving, and enhancing our city and the Earth.
There are many different attractions at the festival including a Green Expo and an Earth Zone. The Green Expo will give vendors a chance to showcase their environmentally friendly products to Houston’s rapidly growing green market. The Earth Zone will feature interactive environmental awareness activities highlighting land, air, water, and renewable energy. There will also be a Farmer’s Market for people to purchase locally grown produce and the Kids Energy Zone will provide educational activities for children.
If you’re interested in living green and want to learn more about it, come out to Discovery Green on Saturday, April 3rd, to take part in Houston’s 2nd Annual Earth Day Festival.
