Green Cleaning

Perhaps the green alternative to the original cleaning products might hurt us financially, there is good news people! DIY or make it yourself. There are certain household items that make superb cleaners. I found a site that mentions a couple of these items and then offers a formula to produce another type of product. Here are some of the items mentioned:

Lemon:  Lemons contain antibacterial and bleaching powers. It is recommended to use lemon to clean brass and copper. Also, pouring some lemon juice on white stained clothing and letting it dry in the sun is another use, something I will definitely be trying soon.

- Vinegar: Vinegar is a disinfectant and deodorizer. Some suggested uses are to clean bathroom toilets and floors with some vinegar diluted in water. There is also the option of adding a couple teaspoons to a spray bottle of water for window cleaning.

Baking soda: This is also a natural deodorizer and a dirt dissolver. Something I do it place an open box in the freezer and one in the refrigerator to avoid awkward odors. One can also use it to clean metals and plastics.

The vinegar works great, my household has been using it forever when our pets have little accidents. It is more budget friendly that pet stain removers and leaves a clean neutral smell after removing the spots.
