Carpooling brings you, your car, and the environment benefits. Carpooling can first save you money. This system cuts your cost by half. Carpooling also saves your car half the wear and tear that is would usually undergo. According to the Sightline Institute, each car emits approximately 1.1 lbs of carbon dioxide per mile. Let’s say you have a 3 passenger carpool system, this decreases the amount to about .37 lbs of carbon dioxide per mile.
Some other benefits are that if it’s not your week to drive, you can relax, nap, or get some work done. With less cars on the road, there’s less traffic and congestion to get to work. Lastly, depending on where you park, you might be able to save some money on parking fees as well. So take advantage on something that provides multiple benefits for yourself and the environment.
