Dine Out During Restaurant Week!
By Brooke, August 5, 2010, Charity & Community
Is there a certain restaurant that you have been dying to try but something (like the price) seems to be holding you back? Well, I have the answer and it’s called Restaurant Week.
In Houston, during Restaurant Week, over 75 fine dining area restaurants are participating to offer three or four course gourmet dinners for $35 per person – what a steal! (Note: price does not include beverages, tax or gratuity.) Also new this year some restaurants are offering lunch – two courses for $20 per person. Yes, this is more than my normal $7 or less turkey sandwich, but we’re talking fine dining here!
In addition, not only are Houston restaurants cooking up fine dining meals at a discount, but they are also donating $5 from each of these meals ($3 per lunch) to the Houston Food Bank*. So, not only can you finally go to that special restaurant you’ve been waiting for but you’re also eating for a special cause! Be sure to make your reservations now because Restaurant Week runs from August 1-21, 2010. To check out more information, menus and the list of participating restaurants go to www.houstonrestaurantweek.com.
For diners in the Dallas/Ft. Worth areas, be sure to be on the lookout for the Dallas-Fort Worth KRLD Restaurant Week presented by Central Market. From August 16-22, 2010, you too can enjoy a three course gourmet meal for $35 at participating restaurants (Note: price does not include beverages, tax or gratuity). In addition, from August 13-15, certain restaurants will serve their three course prix fixe dinner along with a signature cocktail for $42. So make your reservation now! Bon appétit!
*The Houston Food Bank is the largest source of food for hunger relief charities in 18 southeast Texas counties. A network of more than 400 food pantries, soup kitchens, senior centers and other agencies, feeding a total of 137,000 people each week, provides more than 65 million pounds of food and prepared meals annually.
