Dress for successAccording to the United States Department of Labor, the national unemployment rate is 7.8% (as of December 2012), which means 12.2 million Americans are unemployed. Out of that number, 7.3% of the unemployed are women. Whether they were let go due to downsizing, outsourcing, or newly entering the workforce, many women are faced with the unfortunate problem of finding work in a still-recovering economy. And for disadvantaged women, it is even harder. For these women, many don’t own a suit or appropriate work attire to interview, much less have the support system to find or keep a job. That is why the Bounce Energy charity of month for February is Dress for Success.

Dress for Success is an international not-for-profit organization with a mission to promote the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, a network of support, and the career development tools to help women thrive in work and in life. It serves clients by referral only, which come from various non-profit and government agencies such as homeless shelters, immigration services, domestic violence shelters, and more. Since its inception in 1997, Dress for Success has served more than 650,000 clients worldwide and reaches more than 65,000 women in the U.S. and around the world each year.

We at Bounce Energy want to show our support for Dress for Success, so during the month of February, we will donate $.50 for every “like” on our Bounce Energy Facebook page. In addition, we’re giving a gift of $2,500 to the organization. So, join Bounce Energy in our effort to show our support for Dress for Success Houston
