Bounce Energy realizes that, since most of the Texas and Pennsylvania energy markets are deregulated, you as the customer have the power to choose what company you want as your Retail Electricity Provider (REP). We are very thankful that you chose to purchase your electricity from us. So, we want to honor that choice by providing excellent customer service as efficiently and helpfully as possible. This is the second installment of our FAQ Series where we address some of the Frequently Asked Questions that our Customer Service Representatives answer on a regular basis over the phone and e-mail.
Does Bounce Energy offer a discount for veterans or active members of the military?
Absolutely! We believe in honoring the men and women who have served our country so faithfully as best as we possibly can. For Texas residents, Bounce offers a 3% discount on your bill each month. New customers can apply for this discount by entering the “militaryTX” promotion code when you place a new order for service online, while current customers can call Customer Service at 1-888-452-6862 for assistance.
If you live in Pennsylvania, you can enroll in the Military Saver 12 to obtain a 3% discount over the standard rate for the 12-month fixed-rate plan in their area. If you have questions about the plan details, please view this link for more information.
To be eligible for this discount, you will need to provide the necessary documentation to Bounce through our email@example.com e-mail address or 1-888-801-6681 fax number. For veterans, we will need to see your DD214, while active military personnel should provide their Statement of Service. Once your document has been received, you will see your military discount on your next bill with Bounce.
Unfortunately, if you live in Texas and have already achieved Platinum Status with Bounce Energy, you will not be able to receive an additional 3% bill discount.
How does the low rate for that Thrifty Saver Promotional plan work?
There really isn’t a catch with the Thrifty Saver Promotional plan – you will be charged a great low introductory rate for the first billing cycle only. This plan is offered to new customers only as a low-cost way for people to try Bounce for the first billing cycle. After the first billing cycle, the rates for variable-rate plans fluctuate depending upon energy market demand; thus, many customers who start on the Thrifty Saver Promotional plan switch to a fixed-rate plan when they decide they want to stay with Bounce Energy.
When I signed up with Bounce almost 2 years ago, a Companion Airfare Certificate was one of my rewards options. Unfortunately, I don’t see it as a reward option any longer in MyAccount. What happened to it?
Unfortunately, Bounce Energy no longer offers the Companion Airfare Certificate as a standard rewards option at this time, though you can choose it if it was offered to you when you initially joined Bounce. If you still want this reward for making 18 consecutive on-time bill payments, please e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org to make your selection.
After Bounce has received your selection, it can take 6-8 weeks for you to receive your reward at the billing address we have on file for your account. The reward will be presented to you as a letter from Companion Booking (our third-party vendor for this reward), and it will contain a link to that company’s travel portal so that you can activate your Companion Airfare Certificate and purchase your ticket. You will have to activate your Companion Airfare Certificate within 30 days of receiving your reward, and once activated, it will be valid for one (1) year.
Our third-party rewards partner works with several companies, including American Airlines, US Airway, United, Airtran, JetBlue, Frontier, and more. You can use the Companion Airfare Certificate for domestic travel only, and the ticket prices available to you are determined by Companion Booking, not Bounce Energy. The actual Bounce Energy account holder must be one of the people traveling.
However, please be advised that the current standard reward choice for the 18-month reward is a $15 Gift Card to either Wal-Mart or Starbucks. If you would like one of these options instead of the Companion Airfare Certificate, you should be able to select this reward online in your Bounce Energy MyAccount, or you can e-mail email@example.com to make your rewards selection.
