Direct Energy to acquire Bounce Energy

A little over 5 years ago, when we founded Bounce Energy, we set forth to create a company in the electricity industry that did things differently. Our goal was to create a company that provided value to customers beyond allowing them to turn on their lights and computers. We wanted a better relationship with our customers. We wanted to provide rewards and promotions to customers so you could earn something for paying your electricity bill on-time. We wanted to provide a better customer experience by providing a multitude of responsive contact points beyond having to pick up the phone, including chat, email and social media.

Over these past 5 years, you have helped us become who we are today. You’ve made us the most ‘liked’ and followed electricity company on Facebook and Twitter. You’ve rewarded us with the highest J.D. Power Rating (5 out of 5) for customer experience. We’ve given us an A rating with the BBB. We could go on and on. While we still have work to do, needless to say, a big ‘Thank You’ is in order.

Today marks an exciting new day for Bounce Energy – one that will allow us to bring even better experiences (and more competitive rates) to our current customers and those choosing Bounce Energy as their new provider. We are pleased to announce that we are joining the Direct Energy family. As one of North America’s largest competitive energy and energy-related services companies, Direct Energy currently operates in 46 states, plus Washington DC and 10 provinces in Canada.

 

Why is This Transaction Happening?

For Bounce Energy, this means a solid financial foundation to further expand into new U.S. markets and to continue to offer competitive rates and exceptional service to current and new customers.

This acquisition allows Direct Energy to leverage Bounce Energy’s digital marketing, e-commerce and social media expertise to improve current digital sales and online customer experience.

 

What Does it Mean for You as a Bounce Energy Customer?

There are currently no plans to remove Bounce Energy from the market and switch customers to Direct Energy.

Meaning:

  • As you expected when you choose us as your provider, you will continue to receive rewards and referral bonuses without interruption
  • You will continue to experience our competitive rates
  • You will continue to receive your bills from Bounce Energy and manage your account through your Bounce Energy MyAccount
  • And it also means that we will continue to bring you award-winning customer service
