Using Your MyAccount to Your Advantage – Account Management

Using Your MyAccount to Your Advantage – Account ManagementIn July, Bounce Energy proudly introduced the newest version of our industry-leading MyAccount. This technology gives all of our customers – both residential and commercial – access to all of their electricity account information wherever they might be. This month, we want to share these great features with you, from managing your account and plan to exclusive offers and everything in between. Today, we’re discussing basic account management techniques.

Even with all of the fancy bells and whistles we’ve introduced with the new version of MyAccount, we think that the upgrades to the user interface are the most important improvements we made to the technology. The whole point of MyAccount is to make day-to-day account management easy for the average customer, so we want to ensure that you can interact with your information in the best possible way.

Using Your MyAccount to Your Advantage – Account ManagementIt all starts with the left-hand column. As you see with the image we’ve provided, we give you the most important account information up-front and in different iterations. By clicking on any of the links in that sidebar, you can view your basic plan and account information, view usage information, pay your bill, view past bills, and much more. Let’s break down these choices for you and provide a few account management tips.

Plan and Account Information

This is where you can view (and change) your most fundamental information. You’re first presented with your most current billing information, including the way to pay that bill and view past bills. From there, you can view your account number, username, contact phone number(s), Authorized Alternative Contact, and more. Here, you can change your email address, paperless billing status, auto pay billing status, and ask for a password reset.

Next, you can view the specific details pertaining to each order for each service address you’ve ever had with Bounce. This includes your service and billing address, ESIID, meter read dates, plan and rate details, contract expiration date, and more. It also includes a breakdown between active orders, pending orders, and past orders.

Transfer Your Service

This is very straightforward section, as we give you a way to set up services for your new home while also keeping services on at your current service address. We allow for 30 days of overlapping service between 2 service addresses. If you are not able to complete the transfer online, please call Customer Service at 1-888-452-6862 to speak with a friendly representative for assistance.

Outage Information

In the event that you lose power at your service address because of weather or any other reason, we want to help you get in contact with the utility company for your area. At this link, we provide you with the phone number(s), website, and outage tracker for your utility company, as well as all pertinent Bounce Energy social media links so that you can stay informed regarding the outages and/or storms.

Your Documents

We always want to ensure that you can read the “fine print” regarding your service with Bounce Energy. At this link, we give you all the necessary documents pertaining to each of your service addresses, including the Electronic Facts Label, Terms of Service, and Your Rights as a Customer. If you have any questions about the information in any of those documents, please call Customer Service at 1-888-452-6862 to speak with a friendly representative for assistance. You can also e-mail us at customercare@bounceenergy.com for clarity.

Your Usage Info

This is one of our favorite features to provide customers, because the best way to manage your usage in the future is to know how much you used in the past.

  • The top chart is titled “Electricity Usage Comparison,” and it displays the following: the usage on your current bill, the usage on your immediately prior bill, and the usage exactly 1 year ago.
  • The middle chart is called “Monthly Electricity Usage,” as it shows your usage from each month for the past year.
  • The bottom chart shows your home’s “Weekly Electricity Usage” with three sets of data: the yellow line shows your usage trends for the past 3 weeks, the red dots give the high temperature for each day, and the blue dots show the low temperature for each day.

Pay Your Bill

In terms of account management, this is probably the simplest section we have and one of the most important. With this link, you can pay your current Bounce Energy bill online without having to talk with a Customer Service Representative, open paper mail, or mail us a paper check. We provide a few ways to help you with making your payment:

  • You can set up Auto Pay with a credit card of your choice so that you don’t have to visit MyAccount every single month to make your payment.
  • You can pay your bill immediately with any of the credit cards you have on file for your account.
  • You can have Bounce Energy communicate with your bank so that we can set up an ACH electronic funds transfer to have your bill paid through your bank’s online bill payment feature.

Payment Methods

Since we want to make paying your Bounce Energy electricity bill as easy as possible, we let you store several credit cards on file. In this area, you can add, edit, and/or delete credit cards used for payment as you see fit, as well as sign up one of those cards for auto pay to make the monthly payment process simple.

View Your Past Bills and Payments

If you’re like me, when it comes to certain bills, you want to know what you’ve paid, when you’ve paid it, and why you made those payments. This is especially true with your electricity bill, as it’s easy to forget the size of your bill and how much electricity you used to deserve that bill. With this link, we give you a tab marked “Past Bills” with a “View” link so that you can download a copy of a given bill in .pdf form, and a tab marked “Past Payments” that chronicles everything you might want to know about any payment you’ve made to Bounce. With this information, you can better budget your expenditures and your electricity usage.

Understanding Your Bill

Using Your MyAccount to Your Advantage – Account Management

Once of the key aspects of account management is learning how to read your electricity bill. This is why we share your usage history with you and then provide a breakdown of the charges you were assessed that separates the Bounce charges from the ones assessed by your utility company, as well as any other local/state taxes and fees. We also give you a few links to our FAQs so that you can gain a deeper understanding of the electricity billing process.

Paperless Billing

If you’re concerned about the environment or simply tired of worrying with paper mail cluttering up your mailbox, you can opt into paperless billing from Bounce Energy by simply providing your preferred e-mail address and clicking “Submit.” You can also opt out of paperless billing here, if you’d prefer.

Auto Pay

With this section, we describe the Auto Pay process and give you options on how to opt in or out of this handy feature. Knowing your payment status is important to ensuring that your bills are paid on-time and that your power isn’t disconnected because of a payment error.

The best part of our account management revamp? As long as you are logged into your Bounce Energy MyAccount, we will provide you customized messaging at BounceEnergy.com that is directly related to who you are as our customer. You’ll stay connected with your information and be able to access it even when visiting our regular website. The better access you have to your account data, the happier and better informed you’ll be as a customer.
