Bounce Energy will once again be helping Bayou Buddies and Redbuds at their Annual Planting on the Parkway event happening this weekend. The event will be happening at Tapley Tributary near downtown, off Allen Parkway. Participants of the event will be treated to food from FreeBirds and cold beverages from St. Arnold's Brewery. This is guaranteed to be a fun event that will also help improve the habitat quality within the Houston bayous.

Last month, Bounce Energy donated $2500 to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of North Texas. The Make-A-Wish Foundation was among the number of charities nominated in Bounce Energy's "Nominate Your Charity" campaign. We asked our Facebook fans and followers which charity we should donate to. On Saturday, October 2, 2010, Bounce Energy will be participating in the 20th Annual Komen Houston Race for the Cure. With over 30,000 participants, including 1,600 breast cancer survivors and 1,200 volunteers, it is always an inspiring and moving event. Funds raised from this event support breast cancer education, screening and treatment programs for the community.

Breast cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death in women. The chance that breast cancer will be responsible for a woman's death is about 1 in 35 (about 3%). The Gulf Coast oil spill that was caused by the April 20, 2010, explosion of an offshore oil rig has put local wildlife in danger. The National Wildlife Federation's Gulf Restoration Program is coordinating volunteer and restoration efforts to protect and monitor animals at risk.
