Texas Electric Company Bounce Energy Provides Offers and Guidance for Earth Day
Bounce Energy sees Earth Day as a perfect event to provide money saving opportunities to consumers.
Houston, TX -- April 2, 2009 -- Bounce Energy, a Texas Energy Provider, is helping consumers celebrate Earth Day this April by offering their green renewable Energy plan at their lowest rate for their first month. Bounce Energy is also offering a choice of three ways consumers can save either $50 for themselves or make a charitable contribution to the World Wildlife Fund (WWF).
Eco-conscious consumers can sign up for Bounce Energy's Blue Sky Plan that delivers electricity made from 100% Renewable Energy producers, such as landfill gas, hydroelectric, biomass, solar, and wind energy. By supporting alternative energy producers, consumers receive a $50 bill credit with auto bill pay sign up (cuts down on paper), free companion airfare for a year, $200 in energy efficiency products from partner Standard Renewable Energy (to help even save more), and valuable rewards with Bounce Energy's loyalty program, such as paying your electric bill on time for 24 consecutive months and receive one month of electricity FREE.
As an added incentive this April only, those who sign up with the Blue Sky plan will be locked in for Bounce's lowest energy rate (Super Saver) for 30 days. They will also receive their choice of a Home Depot $50 Gift Certificate (to help make their home more green) or a $50 charitable donation to the World Wildlife Fund (WWF).

Some easy green tips that can increase efficiency and conserve energy are:
1. Turn off the control knob right after the final rinse on your dishwasher and prop the door open to let the dishes air-dry.
2. Make sure your refrigerator door seals are airtight. Test them by closing the door over a piece of paper or a dollar bill so it is half in and half out of the refrigerator. If you can pull the paper or bill out easily, the seal may need cleaning or replacing.
3. Move your refrigerator out from the wall and vacuum its condenser coils once a year (unless you have a no-clean condenser model). Your refrigerator will run for shorter periods with clean coils.
4. Turn off lights in rooms that are not in use.
5. Unplug non-essential devices when not in use. Phone chargers, mp3 player chargers, and other "power bricks" use electricity even when the device has been charged and is disconnected.
6. When running the air conditioning in the summer, keep windows closed and shades down. Close south-, east-, and west-facing curtains to keep out solar heat.
7. Replace standard incandescent light bulbs with CFL bulbs. These use 75 percent less energy, produce less heat, and last 10 times longer.
8. Check and clean air conditioning filters monthly and replace as needed.
9. Plant trees to the south, east, and west of your home to reduce the impact of solar heat. Trees can reduce surrounding air temperatures by up to 9 degrees.
10. For your car, change the motor oil according to the factory recommendation and monitor your tire pressure to ensure good gas mileage and longer tire-life.
