Gexa Energy and Bounce Energy offer similar plans and relatively similar rates. Both of us provide a number of fixed rate plans for customers who want to lock in a rate and green plans for eco-conscious customers. What Gexa Energy lacks is the variety of plan choices for variable and month-to-month rate options. Bounce Energy offers customers other a variety of options for month-to-month rate plans. For customers who have heard of stories of variable rates increasing without notice, they can rest assured with Bounce Energy's Smart Green and Smart Saver. These plans include a 10% cap per month on rate increases. The best part about these plans is that there is no limit to how much these rates decrease. The Smart Saver and Smart Green variable rate plans are ideal for customers who are wary of variable rates but would still like to take advantage of rates when they fall month-to-month.Additional Fees
Gexa Energy charges a $4.79 base charge for the plans listed above on top of your electricity bill, regardless of how much energy your home consumes per month. Bounce Energy base charge of $6.95 only applies when your usage in the billing period is less than 1,000 kWh. Although Bounce Energy's base charge is only $2.16 more than Gexa's, if your home uses more than 1,000 kWh of electricity, the base charge will be voided and that can mean an annual savings of up to $57.48 in base charge fees.
Up until recently, Gexa charged customers a fee for the ability to pay their Gexa electricity bills online. Bounce Energy has always offered free online bill payment and has never charged customers a fee to pay with a credit card. Bounce Energy also offers more ways to pay for your electricity bill without charging any fees. Customers can pay over the phone, in person at a any Ace Cash Express or Moneygram location, through mail, or online.
Rewards Program
Unlike Bounce Energy, Gexa Energy does not offer a program that rewards customers for paying their electricity bills on-time. With Bounce Energy's Rewards Program, customers who pay on-time earn a reward every six months. Rewards savings include gift cards to retailers such as Restaurant.com and Starbucks, Fandango movie tickets, bill credits, and even a FREE month of electricity. When customers pay their bill on-time for 24 months, they are even qualified for a 3% discount off every bill for as long as they are a customer. Bounce Energy also offers customers a 3% Cash Back Rewards Program where they will earn a bill credit for paying their previous 12 bills on time.
Gexa, however, does have an airline rewards program. They have partnered with Continental Airlines and American Airlines to provide customers with OnePass miles and American Airlines AAdvantage® miles every time they pay their bills. For Bounce Energy customers who would like to earn airline miles, Bounce Energy also offers American AAdvantage Rewards. Customers who sign up can earn 1 AAdvantage® mile for each $1 they spend on their Bounce Energy bill that is paid on time. Members can redeem flights to almost 950 destinations worldwide as well as other awards including flight upgrades, vacation packages, car rentals, hotel stays and other retail products.
Comparing Gexa and Bounce Energy's Refer-a-Friend Programs
Bounce Energy customers who refer their friends to switch to Bounce Energy can save on their electricity bill by earning bill credits for each friend they refer. Unfortunately, Gexa Energy does not have a similar program for its customers. With Bounce Energy, customers who refer their friends will earn a $50 bill credit and their friend will also earn a $50 bill credit. With Bounce Energy, customers are supplied with many ways to spread the word about their unique referral code. Customers can log into their MyAccount where they can find ways to easily email and post their code onto their social networks like Facebook and Twitter.

If you're in a contract with your current provider and wondering what you can do to take advantage of our great low rates and superior rewards program, try one of the 3 options below. All you'll need to know is the month in which your current contract ends (it is also important to know the amount of your contract termination fee). Whether your contract ends in 30 days or 2 years from now, there's a way to switch.
Option 1: Your Contract Ends in Less Than 45 Days
You're able to switch to Bounce Energy once you're within 14 days of the end of your contract with Gexa Energy. You can schedule your electricity turn on with Bounce Energy 30 days in advance, so you can actually schedule your switch 44 days in advance of the end of your contract. Just make sure to select a date within the last 14 days of your contract.
For example, if your electricity contract ends on October 14th, on September 1st, you can place your order with us and schedule it for anytime after October 1st. If you're ready, just pick your new plan and schedule your turn-on.

If you signed up for a long term contract and the only way to get out of the contract is by paying a termination fee, you can use our Savings Tools to calculate the "value of switching". This tool can help you determine whether you should pay that termination fee.
For example, if your current rate with your current provider is 12.3ยข per kWh and you use 1,000 KWs, you could use our tool to learn that switching to a Bounce plan would save you $306 per year. Even if you paid your current provider a termination fee of $150, you'd still be saving more than $150 or more during the course of the 1st year.*
