Affordable Plans - Renewable and Non-Renewable
Bounce Energy understands the importance of using green energy to power your home. But we also understand that sometimes, renewable energy plans can be more expensive than their non-renewable plan alternatives. That's why we also offer non-renewable options for our price conscious customers. We offer fixed rate plans with terms of 3 months to 24 months for customers who would like to lock in a rate, and month-to-month plans for customers to take advantage of falling energy prices. As for our green energy plans, all our Organic Power plans and Smart Green come from 100% renewable energy. They come from green energy sources such as wind, hydro, solar, and biomass.
The High Cost of Going Green with Green Mountain
Green Mountain Energy specializes in green energy plans and that's the only type of plans they offer. Even with their green plans, you are limited to the number of plans you can choose from. Unlike Bounce Energy non-renewable plans, Green Mountain does not offer the flexibility of having many different term lengths to choose from. If you would like a fixed rate plan from Green Mountain, you will have to settle for one that is 6 months or 12 months long. Bounce Energy also offers green plans in 6 or 12 month term lengths, as well as, variable rate green plans, plus the non-renewable options.
Additional Fees
Most electricity companies charge fees for things such as late payments and an early termination fee when you cancel a contract with a provider before your term is over. On top of those fees, Green Mountain Energy charges you a convenience fee for paying your bill over the phone ($5.95) and in person ($1.50). In addition, you will also be charged a monthly base charge of $5.95. Bounce Energy's monthly base charge is $6.95 and is waived if your usage is greater than 2,000 kWh. If you use a more than 2,000 kWh, that could be added savings, especially if you need to pay your bill over the phone or in person.
Costly Investments for Rewards
Unlike Bounce Energy, Green Mountain does not have a rewards program based on on-time payments and available to all customers. With Bounce Energy's Rewards Program, customers who pay on-time earn a reward every 6 months. Rewards include gift cards, movie tickets, bill credits, a free month of electricity and monthly discounts. Bounce Energy also gives the option to select the American AAdvantage Rewards where they can earn 1 American Airlines AAdvantage® mile for each $1 paid towards their monthly electricity bill. They can redeem their AAdvantage®miles for flights to almost 950 destinations worldwide as well as other awards including flight upgrades, vacation packages, car rentals, hotel stays, and other retail products. Comparing Green Mountain and Bounce Energy's Refer-a-Friend Programs
Both Bounce Energy and Green Mountain Energy offer Refer-a-Friend Programs, but which comes out on top? A nice add-on with Green Mountain Energy's Clean Community Referral Program is that they will plant a tree on you and your friend's behalf when you refer them to Green Mountain. In addition to the tree, you and your friend will receive a $25 bill credit. To redeem your bill credit will require you to mail a paper coupon to Green Mountain once your referred friend signs up. With Bounce Energy, you will not have to go through that inconvenience, you'll automatically receive a $50 bill credit once your friend pays their first Bounce Energy bill. The friend whom you've signed up for Bounce Energy will also receive a $50 bill credit once they pay their first three bills on-time. That's double the amount for you and your friend than if you were both to sign up for Green Mountain Energy. Heck, with those extra dollars, you could plant a hundred trees. Bounce Energy also makes it easy for customers to help spread the word about their unique referral code. Customers can log into their MyAccount where they can find ways to easily email and post their code onto their social networks like Facebook and Twitter.

If You're Locked In a Fixed Rate Contract, You Do Have Options!
If you're in a contract with your current provider and wondering what you can do to take advantage our great low rates and superior rewards program, try one of the 3 options below. All you'll need to know is the month in which your current contract ends (it is also important to know the amount of your contract termination fee). Whether your contract ends in 30 days or 2 years from now, there's a way to switch.
Option 1: Your Contract Ends in Less Than 45 Days
You're able to switch to Bounce Energy once you're within 14 days of the end of your contract with Green Mountain. You can schedule your electricity turn on with Bounce Energy 30 days in advance, so you can actually schedule your switch 44 days in advance of the end of your contract. Just make sure to select a date within the last 14 days of your contract.
For example, if your electricity contract ends on October 14th, on September 1st, you can place your order with us and schedule it for anytime after October 1st. If you're ready, just pick your new plan and schedule your turn-on.

If you signed up for a long term contract and the only way to get out of the contract is by paying a termination fee, you can use our Savings Tools to calculate the "value of switching". This tool can help you determine whether you should pay that termination fee.
For example, if your current rate with your current provider is 12.3¢ per kWh and you use 1,000 KWs, you could use our tool to learn that switching to a Bounce plan would save you $306 per year. Even if you paid your current provider a termination fee of $150, you'd still be saving more than $150 or more during the course of the 1st year.*
