A Variety of Plans to Fit Your Needs
We know not everyone's situation is the same, so we want to provide you with numerous plans from which to choose. Even though you can lock in your rate, we know that not everyone wants to enter into a binding contract with their electricity company for 12 or 24 months (and some do!). With Bounce Energy, you have a choice. You can lock in a low rate and not worry about it as for as long as 24 months or as short as 3 months. We even provide you the flexibility of selecting any of our month-to-month plans so you can take advantage of falling prices and then lock in when they start to go up. Whatever plan you feel comfortable choosing, we have a selection that fits your needs.
Limited Selection of Plans by TXU Energy
TXU doesn't offer fixed rate plans shorter than 8 months. If you wanted to lock in a rate for a trial period (like through the cold months of winter or the hot days of summer), you won't find a 3 month plan to cover those months.
What about indexed plans? Even though TXU's advertising states they don't offer variable rate plans, that does't mean they don't have month-to-month plans. Indexed plans can be month-to-month contracts with prices that may vary based on the price of natural gas or other factors. They call variable rate plans "vari-a-bull" because TXU wants Texans to believe variable rate plans are dangerous. Customers should not be fooled - if the price of natural gas goes up, so will your TXU energy rate if you're on an indexed plan tied to the price of natural gas.
Additional Fees
TXU Energy charges a $5.95 "base charge" for the plans listed above on top of your electric bill, regardless of usage. Bounce Energy charges $6.95, but ONLY when your usage is less than 1,000 kWh per month.
Bounce Energy Loyalty Rewards
While only a select number of TXU energy plans have a cash back option (see below), customers who sign up with any Bounce Energy plan can choose to enroll in the Bounce Energy Rewards Program or the American AAdvantage Rewards Program. Through the Bounce Rewards Program you will receive your choice of 2 movie tickets or a $50 Restaurant.com gift card after 6 months of paying on-time. At the 12 month mark, you will receive you choice of $50 in bill credits or a $50 VISA gift card. And after your 24th month, you will receive a free month of electricity. And let's top that all off with our Platinum Customer Program, where you earn 3% off each bill when you have been a customer for 30 months and paid on-time. Our rewards program is valued at more than $200 and could be much more if you remain a platinum member.
TXU 3% Cash Back
While TXU Energy's rewards program features a 3% cash back on select plans, the true value is less than it seems. Let's say you stayed a TXU customer for 2 years and your average electricity bill (minus taxes and fees) was $125, you paid a total of $3,000. At 3%, you will earn $90 in the form of a prepaid card.
Earning Airline Miles
Both TXU and Bounce Energy customers can earn American Airlines AAdvantage® miles. Bounce Energy customers have two ways to earn these rewards. Customers can opt-in to the AAdvantage Rewards Program or receive 1,000 bonus miles when they sign up with one of Bounce Energy's American AAdvantage plans. With both options, customers can earn 1 AAdvantage® mile per $1 that's paid towards their electricity bill. The only option for TXU customers to earn airline miles is if they sign up for a Luv 2 Fly plan which is priced higher than their normal plans. Even compared to Bounce Energy's American AAdvantage Fixed 24 plan, The Luv 2 Fly 12 is approximately 2¢ per kWh higher than their own eSaver 12 plan (as of October 4, 2011). Even though you would be earning miles with TXU, if you sign up with their Luv 2 Fly rate, it'll be just like paying for your own airline ticket.
Refer-a-Friend Program Comparison
While both Bounce Energy and TXU Energy have a Refer-a-Friend program, there are a few differences. Both electricity companies allow you and your friend to each earn a $50 bill credit but the major difference is that TXU caps the amount of friends you can refer to 10 friends. If you remain a TXU customer, you can only earn $500 per year in refer-a-friend bill credits. Bounce Energy allows you to refer and unlimited number of friends, giving you the ability to accrue an unlimited amount of bill credits. Refer enough friends and you may never have to pay for electricity again. Also, TXU only provides you with the ability to email your friends to tell them about their services, Bounce Energy provides the functionality to post your messages to your Facebook wall and to your Twitter following as well as providing your own Refer-a-Friend cards to hand out.

If you're in a contract with TXU Energy and wondering what you can do to take advantage of our great low rates and superior rewards program, try one of the options below. All you'll need to know is the month in which your TXU contract ends (it might also help to know the amount of your contract termination fee). Whether your contract ends in 30 days or 2 years from now, there's a way to switch.
Option 1: Your TXU Contract Ends in Less Than 45 Days
You're able to switch to Bounce Energy once you're within 14 days of the end of your contract with TXU. You can schedule your electricity turn on with Bounce Energy 30 days in advance, so you can actually schedule your switch 44 days in advance of the end of your contract. Just make sure to select a date within the last 14 days of your contract.
For example, if your TXU contract ends on October 14th, on September 1st, you can place your order with us and schedule it for anytime after October 1st. If you're ready, just pick your new plan and schedule your turn-on.

If you signed up for a long term contracts and the only way to get out of the contract is by paying a termination fee, you can use our Savings Tools to calculate the "value of switching". This tool can help you determine whether you should pay that termination fee.
For example, if your current rate with your current provider is 12.9¢ per kWh and you use 1,000 KWs, you could use our tool to learn that switching to a Bounce plan would save you $486 per year. Even if you paid your current provider a termination fee of $150, you'd still be saving $200 or more during the course of the 1st year.*
