Ending at Midnight, December 31: The Energy Tax Credit

By Vernon Trollinger, December 22, 2010, Energy Efficiency, Save Money

The Energy Efficiency Tax credit expires on December 31 at midnight. These maybe your last few days to wrap up those samller energy efficiency projects that can save you money off your energy bill and give you a credit of up to $1500 this coming tax season.

Remember, according to the rules any improvements must be installed by the deadline. There are plenty of medium to small jobs you can do to claim that credit, especially if you have been planning ahead but just haven’t gotten around to it because of the holidays.

If you have gotten all your upgrades in place, now is the time to begin gathering the tax credit information from manufacturer websites to claim the credit: download, print out, and get them in a folder so you won’t need to rush in April.
