Save On Your Electric Bill During The Holidays

Getting a light bill during the holidays which is anything less than $100 might be a gift in of itself but the reality is that everyone’s bill will be at least $100 thanks to that beautiful Christmas tree you put up in the living room and that great décor or blow up snowman you put in the front lawn. In order to avoid one of these kinds of bills, here are some tips:

  • Bake all goods in one day- Using the oven is expensive as it is so with multiple holiday parties and possibly using baked goods as gifts, your electric bill might just shoot up a bit more than before. With that in mind, the best idea is to dedicate one day to baking all those things so you are also being efficient in several ways.
  • Buy LED lights and time them- Many of us have been educated on the pros of investing in LED lights and how it can save your bill and energy but we can also take it one step further by timing these lights so that you don’t have to worry about turning them off every night before you go to sleep.
  • Use candles – Another alternative to light décor is also using candles. There are some precautions to using candles but you can always buy the flameless ones so that in any case that you forget to turn them off, then would not be a threat to your home or family.
