Earth Day has been celebrated each April 22 since 1970, and it’s a day to bring awareness to the ways people can affect our world positively and negatively (with an emphasis on improving its current conditions). As great as those efforts are, Bounce Energy decided to expand our vision beyond that one day and spend the entire month of April celebrating our environment and how we can better it.

For the month of April, Bounce Energy will be donating $2,500 and 50 cents for every new “Like” we receive on our Facebook page to the World Wildlife Fund. As the world’s leading nature conservation organization, World Wildlife Fund has been working tirelessly since 1961 to provide engaging and pioneering methods for preserving our environment for the animals and people that inhabit it.

As the non-profit declares on its website:

“We seek to save a planet, a world of life. Reconciling the needs of human beings and the needs of others that share the Earth, we seek to practice conservation that is humane in the broadest sense. We seek to instill in people everywhere a discriminating, yet unabashed, reverence for nature and to balance that reverence with a profound belief in human possibilities. From the smallest community to the largest multinational organization, we seek to inspire others who can advance the cause of conservation.”

The World Wildlife Fund employs a unique combination of scientific know-how and diplomatic skill to connect with like-minded governments and organizations around the globe to accomplish its mission. Some of its principal efforts include:

  • Conserving 15 of the world’s most ecologically important regions by 2012,
  • Helping communities throughout the globe learn how to conserve the necessary natural resources in their area,
  • Repair and defend species and habitats deemed at-risk,
  • Teach people, governments, and businesses that nature should be cherished, and that respect should be shown through the implementation of policies and procedures that reduce harmful impact upon the environment and increase conservation measures.

Bounce Energy believes in the conservation mission of World Wildlife Fund, and we want to show our appreciation for its efforts with our donation and awareness efforts. Follow Bounce Energy on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and Tumblr all month long to learn about how you can help your environment with tips on making your life, home, business, and world more green and energy efficient. You can also participate in our Be Green Pin It to Win It Contest, and for every submission you make, Bounce will contribute an additional $1 to World Wildlife Fund.
