Celebrating the 4th of July in Texas, Pennsylvania, and New YorkThe 4th of July is almost here, and I cannot wait! This is one of my favorite holidays because, for one day, Americans join together to celebrate how awesome this country is and reflect on how far we’ve come. So, this year, join in the celebration and take some time to appreciate our great country. Here are some ways to celebrate the Fourth of July in Texas, Pennsylvania, and New York.

Celebrating the 4th of July in Texas, Pennsylvania, and New YorkHouston: If you live in or are traveling to Houston over the July 4th holiday weekend, then head to Eleanor Tinsley Park for “Southwest Airlines Freedom Over Texas.”  This event takes place every July 4th and features one of the largest fireworks displays in the US, set perfectly to a number of patriotic and current musical selections. Before the fireworks start, guests can enjoy a children’s entertainment area, a kid zone, vintage aircraft flyovers, a Texas-size concert featuring a national recording artist, food, drinks, and more!

Cost:  July 2-3 – $8 per person (children 5 and under are FREE); July 4 – $10 per person

Dallas – For those who will be in the greater Dallas-Fort Worth area over July 4th, head to the State Fair of Texas to celebrate America’s independence for “Fair Park Fourth.” Throughout the day guests can enjoy live music from Texas bands like Trio Grande and Razzmajazz Dixieland Band, water features, access to rides, games, and concessions in the State Fair of Texas Midway! Once it gets dark, stay to watch the annual fireworks display from inside the Cotton Bowl, the Midway or from various locations throughout the grounds.

Cost: Admission to the Midway is $5 and parking for the general public is $5

Celebrating the 4th of July in Texas, Pennsylvania, and New YorkPhiladelphia – Given the history of Philadelphia, it’s no wonder why this city is a major player when it comes to Fourth of July celebrations. While there are a number of places around Philadelphia to celebrate America’s independence, the biggest seems to be located on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway for the “Philly 4th of July Jam and Grand Finale Fireworks.” It all begins with a day-long Party on the Parkway where there will be food, live entertainment, and interactive fun. When the sun starts to go down, get ready to celebrate July 4th with the “Largest Free Concert in America” featuring performances from The Roots, Ed Sheeran, Nicki Minaj, Jennifer Hudson, Aloe Blacc, and others. The evening ends with an incredible fireworks display over the Philadelphia Museum of Art.

Highlights include The World Championships of XPOGO: Pogopalooza, Powerboat North American Championships, the Anything That Floats Competition, the K9 Crew Frisbee Dog Show and so much more. The weekend event will be capped off with what is “considered one of the Top 10, 4th of July displays in the country.” This stunning fireworks display features musical choreography with a focus to honor all men and women in uniform dedicated to protecting our nation.
