Bounce Energy Joins the Fight Against Prostate and Testicular Cancer Through Movember Campaign

Bounce Energy has launched a social campaign to help support men's health issues through Movember & Sons.

This November, Bounce Energy is supporting Movember & Sons in their fight against men's health issues. The Texas electricity company will be donating $2,500, and it hopes to donate more through a special promotion to its customers, friends, and social network followers. Bounce Energy will be raising funds on Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest:

  • For every new “Like” on Facebook obtained during November 2012, an extra 50 cents will go to Movember.
  • Anyone can submit a photo of their moustache to Bounce Energy through Twitter (@BounceEnergy) or Pinterest ( Bounce will in turn donate and extra $1 to the campaign, plus put that person into a contest for a grand prize at the end of the month. Since its humble Australian origins in 2003, Movember has sought to raise global awareness for men's health concerns, specifically prostate and testicular cancer, during the month of November. With goals similar to National Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, participants in Movember are encouraged to grow a moustache for the entire month of November in order to raise funds for various research foundations.

According to the Movember website, the organization seeks to "get men to grow moustaches by creating an innovative, fun and engaging annual Movember campaign that raises funds and awareness globally." Participants in Movember must first register at the Movember site, start November 1st with a clean-shaven face, and then grow a moustache all month long. Many participants frequently post pictures of their progress to their various social media circles, complete with links where people can learn more about prostate and testicular cancer, as well as donate support to participating research initiatives.

Growing out a moustache is a creative way to raise awareness about men's health concerns, as it uses the face as a walking billboard, enabling participants to strike up several conversations all month long. Help Bounce and Movember increase awareness and raise funds for prostate and testicular cancer research all month long with a simple bit of facial hair and some focused social media action. The core belief of Movember: "Knowledge is Power. Moustache Is King."
